Satellite Services

The Single Channel per Carrier service provides two-way dedicated links via satellite, both symmetrical and asymmetrical, for digital communications between two or more fixed or mobile points in arbitrary locations within the satellite coverage areas.

Service modes

There are different modes of the service depending on topology and range:

Topology dependant:

  • Point to point: service between two points.
  • Point-multipoint: star topology where the central point is connected to several remote points.

Range dependant:

  • Basic: transparent channel data service, which means that there is no conversion or protocol processing at any point in the equipment used.
  • Advanced Mode: service in which routers are added at both ends of the basic mode, which makes it possible to expand the variety of interfaces and protocols offered.

A Single Channel per Carrier link is established between two or more land-based transmitter/receiver stations. The basic equipment in each land-based station consists of the parabolic antenna, the radio-frequency unit and the modulator.
