Satellite Services

This is a service for broadband connectivity to IP networks via satellite, provided by Telefonica Wholesale, to complement the connectivity options in places where other broadband technologies do not reach and offers a 100% diversified backup.

The VSAT-IP service allows customers to connect directly to the internet or to their own Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), remote offices that require these services.

From the technical point of view, this service is based on a shared access point (Hub) that provides service to the group of terminals regardless connectivity mode. The concentration of terminals and the efficiency when sharing the physical medium are the keys to a satellite access service at prices that are affordable for the market.

Service modes (can be combined by a single client):

• Internet. Offers internet connectivity from the remote office with asymmetrical speeds between 256Kbps/128Kbps and 4Mbps/512Kbps (download speed/upload speed).
• VPN. Allows the customer to add remote offices to its corporate network, interconnecting with any of Telefonica's VPN solutions.
• VPN backup. Offers a fully diversified backup for the customer's VPN accesses over the land-based network.
• Generic wholesaler. Provides network services and terminal sales, allowing the customer to customise the final service to the consumer.
